Park City 2012

What an amazing trip we had this year!  Although Dave and I were gone for 10 days, which is generally a bit too long for a vacation for me, the trip flew by and we enjoyed every second of it!  Just wish we could have stayed longer.

The views were absolutely beautiful.  Even though it was on average about 15-20 degrees every day, the winter is a hundred times more tolerable than Chicago.

We stayed at Dave’s parents house and had the luxury of skiing right out of the back door.  The ski run, Harmony, goes right next to the house and another run, White Water, in the backyard that just opened a couple years ago.

We discovered the iPhone app, Ski Tracks, which takes all different measurements while skiing.  Speed, distance, altitude, duration, number of runs, etc.

Check it out!  47.2 MPH  Go me!

After visiting Park City for six years, I finally spotted my first moose!

It was a female just looking for food.  EVERY single year, I declare it my year to see a moose so I can’t even tell you how excited I was!

It’s hard to tell from the picture but they are ENORMOUS.  To put in perspective, your average horse stands just over 5 feet from the ground to its shoulders, while a full grown moose stands 6 1/2 to 7 feet tall.  Crazy, huh?

Just happy we were in the car at the time!

Our nights consisted of outstanding dinners, both home-cooked (the best!) and out at restaurants, usually followed by dice games or just relaxing and enjoying company.

On Christmas morning, the kids had a blast opening all their presents from Santa!

When Dave and I first arrived in Utah, it was just us two and Dave’s parents.  But as the days went on, the house got progressively more crowded as it filled with family and friends.

Our trip ended with a bang on New Years!
